Faced with pressure from those who accuse her of cultural appropriation, Kim Kardashian is going to choose a new name for her brand of underwear.

FASHION - “Kimono” was the name of Kim Kardashian's new shapewear brand, as she announced on June 25. And yes “it was”. This Monday, July 1, she decided to change the name of her range of bras and panties.

“I will launch my clothing brand under a new name. I'll keep you informed. Thank you for your understanding and unfailing support,” she wrote on Instagram.

A hashtag and a letter from the mayor of Kyoto

Many internet users criticized the star for falling into cultural appropriation by choosing such a name for her collection. On Twitter, a #KimOhNo hashtag was even created to alert rapper Kanye West's wife.

The mayor of Kyoto, the former imperial capital of Japan, even sent a letter to Kim Kardashian at the end of June asking her to change the name of her underwear line. Pressure to which the reality TV star finally gave in.
