80,000 euros fine in Grigny in 2021 for rental license fraud
80,000 euros, fines were imposed in 2021 in Grigny (Essonne) on people who did not respect the rental permit, a device intended to fight against the rental of unsanitary housing
The rental permit, created by the law for access to housing and renovated urban planning (Alur) in 2014, obliges the landlords of the municipalities where it is set up, to request authorization before putting a dwelling in rental, under penalty of penalties.

The objective is to "fight actively and firmly against landlords who do not respect the conditions worthy of renting accommodation in the Grigny 2 condominium", according to the prefecture of Essonne.
"In January 2021, a first administrative fine in the amount of 15,000 euros was imposed by the Prefect of Essonne on a lessor of the co-ownership who did not respect the refusal of authorization to rent expressed by the City", details the press release.
One of the largest condominiums in Europe with substandard housing
Five fines "between 5,000 and 15,000 euros per accommodation in violation" were imposed during the year and four others were decided by the Essonne prefecture in early December.
“Fifteen other cases that could lead to fines are under investigation,” said the prefecture. Grigny 2 is one of the largest condominiums in Europe and has many substandard housing.
The State has decided to carry out the largest co-ownership recovery operation in France there by buying, through the Ile-de-France land establishment (Epfif), 1,320 housing units on the 5,000. A total of 920 homes will be destroyed (nine buildings out of the 104) and 400 transformed into HLM.
