Test of Winter Motorcycle Gloves V'quatro Turismo GTX
Motorcycle.Com tested the high -end winter gloves for 4 months V'quattro Turismo GTX, extremely efficient motorcycle gloves in the face of bad weather despite some youth defects.Verdict.
A walk -in sporty look for French gloves!
Winter motorcycle gloves often have nothing very glamorous and are rather bulky, due to the superposition of several layers aimed at keeping hands warm and dry.
This is not the case for Turismo GTX: certainly long and fairly thick, they enjoy an almost sporty look thanks to their rigid shells placed on the upper phalanges, their internal face in goat leather and their flexible plastic reinforcementwhich surrounds the outside of the palms.
The first contact is positive for these gloves that we could at first all of all attribute to an Italian equipment manufacturer, due to their name with transalpine sounding and their small green-white-red logos affixed here and there.
In reality, it is not: V'quattro belongs to the Aixstream group, a company founded in 2009 in Aix-en-Provence (13)."Made in France", then? Not exactly: AixStream - which also produces the Astone and Panthera helmets, overlap clothing and Octopuss bags - uses an Asian production sector, in this case China, for its gloves V'quatro Turismo GTXMO.
Qualitative on sight, the Turismo GTX gloves are just as much to the touch: the leather inside the palm is flexible, the external seams are discreet and solid, while the presence of a gel part in the extension of theinch brings a real "plus" in terms of comfort and protection.
Small additional attention to a time when smartphones have become everyday objects: panels (white in the photo below) promoting tactile return are placed at the end of the thumb and index of each hand.Their presence allows in particular access to the elementary functions, materialized by large icons, a telephone or a GPS.
On the other hand, the consequent diameter of the end of the fingers is incompatible with the accuracy required to use a touch keyboard: do not expect to redefine a route on your screen - and even less send a text - without removing your gloves!
Efficiency and safety: full box for Turismo GTX
Easy to put on, the Turismo GTX gloves are then perfectly maintained through two scratches with excellent hooking power. The first is located under the wrist and the second "farm" the long cuff.
The thick internal polyester lining overlooks the fingers cozy: no seams irritate the hand, while the superposition formed by the layers of thermal insulators and the tight gore-tex membrane only very reasonably climb the mobility of the fingers of the fingers.
The grip on controls thus appears very satisfactory for a winter glove: an essential characteristic for comfort and safety.
Many protections in strategic places (phalanxes, palms, hand slices) also show that V'quattro has neglected any aspect relating to security on these approved gloves EPI (EN standard EN 13594).
Their insulating power against cold and humidity arouses a degree of similar satisfaction, since even the most cautious of MNC testers rent their high protection in the face of bad weather!Strong rains wiped off for hours to offer you our tests and comparisons have never come to the end of their waterproofing, even after 10 hours drive days in the middle of winter!

The excellent efficiency of the speaking treatment applied to their surface partly explains this resistance to water: the drops slide on the gloves without ever penetrating them, which also avoids the phenomenon of inevitable increase when the external materials "S 'Engorging ".
Verdict: Perfect, the Turismo GTX gloves? Not quite...
Extremely convincing in the face of bad weather and cold and pleasantly "looked" for winter gloves, the V'quetro Turismo GTX seemed to win the maximum note of our equipment tests, but some small perfectible "details" made them losebig points...
Verdict Motorcycle.Com: 6/10 | |

First of all, MNC regrets that a small raclette to wipe the headset screen is not provided on these high -end gloves.
At 119 euros, the absence of this system as practical as they are beneficial in terms of security is regrettable.
But it is especially in terms of the lack of resistance of the attachments of the internal lining that the greatest disappointment came.
At first, MNC had no criticism of formulating on this point: the lining remained perfectly in place when the gloves were removed. Then, little by little, the game appeared at the end of each finger...
After a few months, the phenomenon worsened until reaching the illustrated stadium in the photo opposite: a complete reversal of the lining when removing a glove. We let you imagine the galley to reintroduce everything in the right place!
Finally, a small downside also concerning their ability to regulate the heat released by the hands when the mercury goes up: although they are announced as "extremely breathable", the Turismo GTX gloves are perfectible in this area.
An annoying feature when the morning frost give way to softer temperatures in the afternoon, because perspiration is not sufficiently evacuated and the lining is therefore moist.
