100 years of history
In 1920, the English company (Holophane Limited) joined forces with a French industrialist to create a production site and installed glassware in Andelys.Thus was born Holophane his.
For over 100 years now, Holophane has been distinguished by her double mastery of the pressed glass and optics.
Originally linked to lighting and decorative applications, Holophane quickly evolved into more technical applications intended for various sectors such as table arts, luxury bottles, urban lighting, architecture and especially the automobile, sector in which it is the world leader in glass components for lighting.

- 1920: Birth of Holophane SA- In the 1920s, Holophane built its development on the glass mastery of employees from the East, in particular from Baccarat, with the development of fresnel optics, aesthetics and the aesthetics andGlass transparency.- 1930: Otis Mygatt sells Holophane SA (France) at the Count Exelmans.The 3 Holophane companies become independent, each of them addressing its own market.It is the beginning of industrialization that supports the premises of an emerging market: that of the automobile.Holophane still produces blown glass but the hurried glass is gaining momentum.- 1940: Holophane France must abandon its factory and set it out only partially, the shortage of raw materials under the occupation not allowing the necessary modernizations.- 1952: Holophane stops the production of art glassworks in France.- 1955-1957: Phenix production (range of oven-resistant cooking dishes), competitor of Pyrex (Saint Gobain).- 60s: the company continues its development in lighthouses.Its production is around 360 tonnes of glass per month.It employs 900 people.- 1965-1970: Acquisition of a glassware in Brazil and another in Sweden.- 1972: The chandelier service is installed route de peace in Andelys.Birth of the Europhane Society.- 80s: Following an OPA, the English group Thorn Emi bought Holophane and Europhane companies.Holophane retains its main activity for manufacturing automobile headlights.- 1989: takeover by sediver.Its production capacity goes nine then twelve production lines.- 1994: Implementation of the quenching workshop to optimize thermal and mechanical resistance of glass.- 1998: Holophane is ceded by Sediver to her management.Michel Blin becomes the president.The emphasis is put on the fog lights and aspherical lenses.- 2013: acquisition of Holophane by the American group American Industrial Acquisition Corporation (AIAC).- 2019: Laurent Guérin succeeds Michel Blin at the head of Holophane.- 2020: winner of the automotive modernization fund.€ 985,000 grant to modernize its production tool and develop new products.

Two exhibition weekends
