Following the sale of his company to the investment company Blackstone, now a majority shareholder in Spanx, the latter was upgraded. Sara Blakely, 50, wanted her company to reach a valuation of 20 million dollars, it is finally much more than she obtained and thus wanted to share these profits. The Spanx business was launched in 2000 with just $5,000. By this action, the founder of Spanx becomes at the same time a billionaire, a status that she had lost following the drop in sales during the Covid crisis.
