In Josselin (Morbihan), the Red Cross premises moved 4 place Alain de Rohan.The vestiboutic, open to all, offers clothes and objects of all kinds at a low price.Open since March 20, it will be inaugurated on September 3, 2021.

"A new dynamic"

The local Red Cross unit, which was previously on rue des Devins, settled in 4 place Alain de Rohan, not far from the Notre-Dame du Roncier and the town hall basilica."The new site offers us much better visibility, and is more easily accessible," explains Anne-Marie Molac, president of the local unit.

Since its move, Josselin's Red Cross has been attached to the local Brocéliande unit, on which Ploërmel also depends."The local unit of Josselin has made the request to relate to that of Ploërmel, which made it possible to infuse a new dynamic", of which this transfer of premises is the best illustration.

The success of the vestiboutic

In the new site, former notarial office, vestiboutique is installed on two levels.Clothes for women, men and children are sold, but also, books, dishes, small furniture and objects of all kinds.All at very reduced prices.To feed the rays and windows, volunteers count on the donations of individuals and certain stores around.

"Since the opening, we have a lot of passage.People are mainly interested in textiles, or buy objects they have identified in the windows.Customers come in regular flow, and activity is much more important than in the old premises, "says Anne-Marie Molac.In total, 13 volunteers work with this solidarity store.

To be able to continue its action, local unity is always looking for donations.Its manager admits it, the task has been "more complicated" since the Covid crisis."Before people could place the clothes in boxes, now we only take what it is possible to put directly on the shelves."So be careful, with too damaged clothing donations.“We sometimes have to refuse certain donations.The main criteria are the cleanliness and good condition of the clothes, ”explains the manager.

A wide range of action

In addition to vestiboutic, the local unit organizes the "Red Cross on wheel" every last Thursday of the month.In partnership with the food bank, a truck distributes fruits, vegetables, dairy products and fresh products for families in need, in exchange for symbolic participation.

Vestiboutique open on Wednesday afternoon from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to noon.
