Le 10 septembre 1950, trois importants immeubles de la ville de Matane sont bénits solennellement par Mgr Georges Courchesne, archevêque de Rimouski. Il s’agit de l’École Supérieure Victor-Côté, de la gare de Canada &Gulf Terminal Railway et du Palais des Sports, toutes de construction récente.
