A bereaved fashion week
This winter fashion week, currently underway in Paris, was already tinged with nostalgia, with, in particular, this parade tribute to Pierre Cardin, who died a year ago, and whose latest models will be presented on Thursday at 6 p.m.Bourget Air and Space Museum (Seine-Saint-Denis) and online broadcast here.It is also this week that the retrospective event begins in Yves Saint Laurent (we tell you more below).
But the recent disappearance of several icons in the sector has slightly darkened the atmosphere.Men's fashion has already been mourned ten days ago by the death of Nino Cerruti, it is another haute couture giant, the French Thierry Mugler, who died on Sunday. The latter is the subject of a beautiful exhibition, which we had already told you about and which continues until April 24, 2022 at the Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris. To find out more, it's there.
To this must be added the tragic death of actor Gaspard Ulliel, who had brilliantly embodied Yves Saint Laurent on the screen (again, we tell you below), as well as that, more confidential but as much striking for professionals, from André Leon Talley, the acolyte of Anna Wintour who helped the greatest, from Karl Lagerfeld to John Galliano. To discover the work of this journalist, you have to review the documentary The September Issue, on the creation of Vogue (available in VOD and DVD/Blu-ray).
Behind the scenes: the little warhol of the Muse of Yves Saint Laurent
It is the event retrospective of the year. From Saturday, six major Parisian museums pay tribute to Yves Saint Laurent. The big designer loved art: his clothes were therefore exposed to the works that inspired them.An unprecedented, spectacular format that unfolds in six institutions (the Center Pompidou and the Museums of the Louvre, Orsay, Modern Art in Paris, Picasso and Yves Saint Laurent).
At the entrance to the Yves Saint Laurent museum, you can see a small portrait of the designer by Andy Warhol. The table belongs to Betty Catroux, the friend and muse of the creator who is today vice-president of the Pierre Bergé-Yves Saint Laurent Foundation. As she tells the JDD, she was ready to deliver her little warhol herself, "in a plastic bag" and "taking the bus 63 to the Yves Saint Laurent Museum", avenue Marceau.
Madison Cox, Pierre Bergé's last husband who presides over the foundation, convinced it to do that "in the rules of the art", with a bailiff and careful packaging."This is where I understood that this painting, on a shelf of my living room, had a crazy value," laughs the old model. The warhol in question is one of the small formats of the famous portraits of Saint Laurent dreamer and thoughtful, painted by the king of pop art in 1974. "On the death of Yves, Pierre Bergé offered five, including oneAnd one in Betty, "reveals Madison Cox.(S.j.)

The classic to review: Saint Laurent
After the tragic death of Gaspard Ulliel, whose funeral will take place on Thursday, Canal+ rebroadcast Saint Laurent (2014), Bertrand Bonello, undoubtedly his most beautiful role. The actor, son of a stylist and a designer, embodies with amazing mimicry the great designer whose life we follow here from 1967 to 1976, a decade decisive in his career.
We discover an individual tormented by the pangs of creation, surrounded by his muses, and by his sentimental life, between his companion, the businessman Pierre Bergé who builds an empire, and his lover, the Dandy Jacques de Bascher.Under permanent pressure, the rising star isolate herself and drowns her discomfort at night, synonymous with all excesses ...
The biopic brings together Jérémie Renier, Louis Garrel and Léa Seydoux around Gaspard Ulliel, to the impressive, subtle and precise performance. We are struck by the way of moving and talking about the one who lost 12 kilos for the character.Coincidentally, he had already almost interpreted it in an aborted project of Gus Van Sant. This was not enough to win, in early 2015, the César for best actor, obtained by Pierre Niney, also for the role of Yves Saint Laurent in another eponymous biopic, of Jalil Lespert, released a few months earlier.Gaspard Ulliel finally won the statuette two years later for just the end of the world.(S.B.)
To see in VOD on several platforms (Arte, MyCanal, Orange and Universcine) and in DVD/Blu-ray (15 euros).

The turnkey weekend: in Corsica and winter, in search of sea chataignes
Not only leaves in Corsica in winter makes it possible to appreciate soft temperatures, but it is an opportunity to enjoy one of the oldest traditions of the island: the bearers. Each year, from mid-December to the end of March, the population embarks on the search for sea urchins, otherwise called sea chestnuts or, in the local language, Zini.
The sea urchinade designates both consuming sea urchins and a traditional festivity in the south of France. This is an opportunity for family meetings or outdoor tastings under the winter sun.Fishing, authorized until April 15, is however highly regulated: the quantity per amateur fisherman is limited to 3 dozen per person while respecting the size of 5 cm in diameter, without the spiters. The fine can amount to 1,500 euros in the event of non-compliance.
If the Gulf of Ajaccio remains the most popular place to find sea urchins yourself, we recommend that you go up the rocky coast to the north and cargo. The D81 road will allow you to reach the coast and its many beaches where to collect the precious seafood. On the way, those of Stagnoli, Pero and Ménasina are good spots. When reaching Cargèse, pass a head in the sumptuous Greek church, a Catholic sanctuary of Eastern rite decorated with icons on a gold background.
And if you had to stay a week ...
Ajaccio remains a departure city rich in heritage including the Fesch Palais, its essential Museum of Fine Arts.By taking the Sanguinaires route, towards the west, you will quickly reach the impressive Pointe de la Parata, a black granite promontory, closing in the north the Gulf of Ajaccio, surmounted by a Genoese tower, which dominates the Gulf andThe close archipelago of the bloodthirsty.
If you go to Cargèse, continue the road to the north to reach, at first, the Chiuni handle, whose large sandy beach is kept by a Genoese tower, then the most beautiful natural region of Corsica:The Gulf of Porto.Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the site is incredible, with its coastline bordered by red granite cliffs, its exceptional fauna and flora. The southern part is dominated by Piana's creeks, a sort of granite chaos where the blue of the sea collides with the orange of the rocks.Further north, the Scandola reserve, also classified by UNESCO, offers grandiose landscapes.
Where? After joining Corsica by boat (from Nice, Toulon or Marseille) or by plane, you will need a car to explore the coast to the Gulf of Porto.
When?Winter is a surprisingly ideal season to discover Corsica.Temperatures are soft and tourists absent. And winter freshness does not detract from the beauty of the landscapes.
At what price?Going to Corsica has a high cost due to the budget linked to transport. But because of the low season, accommodation and catering will not be as expensive as other seasons.
