The United States insists on the appointment of a head of government
The White House declared on its official page on July 31, 2021, that the national security advisor of President Joe Biden, Jake Sullivan said, during a telephone conversation with the President of the Kaïs Saïed Republic, that thePresident amply supports the Tunisian people as well as Tunisian democracy established on respect for human rights, the consolidation of institutions and the rule of law.
Jake Sullivan considered that the return to the normal situation requires the clarification of new strategic axes accompanied by the formation of a government and the appointment of his new leader as soon as possible to continue the unfinished democratic transition.
He also added that the new head of government must meet the requirements relating to the fight against the epidemic crisis and economic restructuring favorable to economic stability without forgetting the return of elected parliamentarians at the right time.
Jake Sullivan also said that they are always ready to help Tunisia guarantee a fruitful and democratic future.Jake Sullivan also sent the support of President Joe Biden to the Tunisian people.
